Attendance

The purpose of Class Attendance in Accudemia is to track the visits to a specific class. You can manage the attendance on all the classes you have that current semester or view old semesters as well. You can also choose a specific session you want to look at throughout the day.

The following steps are used to Manage Attendance of a specific class:

1. Select Class

  • To find a specific class you can filter the search by looking for the Term, Name, the CRN (Classroom Room Number) or you can manually look for it on the main page. When you have found the class you can click on it to move forward

2. Select Session

  • To find a specific session you can filter the search by looking for the Location, Session Date or you can manually look for it on the main page. When you have found the session you can click on it to move forward.

3. Manage Attendance

  • From this Management menu you can filter what you can:
    • Show Students (Present)
      • Tardy
      • Excused
    • Show Students (Absent)
      • Beyond Cut-Off
      • Excused
      • Note: You need to click on Apply Filter for the page to refresh with the new filter.
You can go back to choosing another Class or Session by clicking on either CHANGE CLASS or CHANGE SESSION

Managing Attendance

There are three options of where students can be added to:

  • PRESENT STUDENTS: The students shown in this section were the ones that were present in the class.
  • BEYOND CUT-OFF / EXCUSED ABSENT STUDENTS: The students shown in this section were the ones that were either Tardy or Excused to class.
  • ABSENT STUDENTS:The students shown in this section were the ones that were absent to class.
You can customize your view in any of these sections by:
  • Page Size: the range goes from 15 to 100.
  • Clear All: to get rid of all the the selected values.
  • Show: To show selected or unselected items.

Mark as Present/Absent

If a student is present but they didn't sign in or forgot to there is a way to manually change his status:

  1. First select the student(s) that were marked absent by checking the box next to the name(s).
  2. Then at the top of the page just click on  Mark as Present .
  3. After the message Are you sure you want to mark selected students as present? Click Yes and the student should then be marked present.

If a mistake was made and a student was marked present there is also a way to manually change his status to Absent:

  1. First select the student(s) that were marked present by checking the box next to the name(s).
  2. Then at the top of the page just click on  Mark as Absent .
  3. After the message Are you sure you want to mark selected students as absentees? Click Yes and the student should then be marked absent.

Excused/Tardy

If you want a student to be shown in the second column titled BEYOND CUT-OFF / EXCUSED ABSENT STUDENTS because they were tardy or were late for an excused reason you can manually change their status by:

  1. First selecting the student(s) that were marked present/absent by checking the box next to the name(s).
  2. If their reason for being late was excused, then at the top of the page just click on Excuse
    • You will have to manually write what the excuse if for in the text box provided.
  3. if they were tardy, then at the top of the page just click on Tardy
    • You will have to select Tardy By and select a time (in min).
  4. Click save for the status change to take effect.

Add/Remove Student

  • To add a student by clicking on Add Student at the top of the page and then select the student you want to add and click Accept.
  • To Remove a student you can select the student(s) that were marked present/absent/excused by checking the box next to the name(s) and then clicking on Remove Student. A message will appear Are you sure you want to remove selected students from this session? Click Yes and the student will be removed.
